LIDA Recognized With Award For Work With Teens
Thanks to the doulas who participate in Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk's “Youth and Adolescence Program” (formally: SNAP, Inc.) by providing doula services to pregnant/parenting teens.

Today, at their 21st annual Teen Parent Conference, LIDA, Inc., was awarded EOCs--YAP annual award to people/programs who "support pregnant and parenting teens"

Through the years, and there have been many, we have had MANY members who have participated in this program. On behalf of the LIDA Council, we are grateful to you and thank you for your many hours of support you have provided these teens.

During this holiday season, LIDA gives thanks to you and thank you for your continued participation and support in this program and other program in which LIDA participates.

THE PIONEER AWARD 2023
The Long Island Doula Association (LIDA) was recently honored with the Postpartum Resource Center of New York's 2023 Pioneer Award at the Postpartum Resource Center of New York's 4th Annual Summer Gala on August 14th, 2023 at the Bayview House of Captain Bill's Restaurant in Bay Shore, New York.

The Long Island Doula Association is being recognized for being the first doula organization in New York State to create a Families in Crisis Fund that includes addressing prevention and support to families at risk or experiencing a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder. Their Fund is to assure that all women have access to a birthing and/or postpartum doula either for free or low cost.

LIDA has also collaborated with the Postpartum Resource Center of New York in establishing a bi-annual PMAD all day training workshop that has been approved by Doulas of North America for continuing education credits. This workshop has since been offered for the Doulas of the Capital Region and is being offered in Staten Island in the fall and throughout New York State.
